FAQs

What kind of network uptime should I expect?

We offer a 99.999% uptime service. You should expect no network-related downtime, as our network infrastructure is set up completely redundantly (multi-homed, multiple providers, multiple physical paths) and allows for little to no issues from localised upstream outages.

Do I have access to my colocated equipment?

We offer 24x7x365 access to pre-authorised staff to your equipment. Government-issued photo ID (driving licence or passport) is required in all cases for access to the facility.

What connection speeds are available from the data centres?

We currently offer dedicated connectivity for 10Mbps, 100Mbps, and 1Gbps (copper and fibre) connections. Our customers are very satisfied with the redundant-path Servecentric bandwidth, but clients may choose to maintain direct vendor relationships. Currently there are over a dozen Tier 1 and Tier 2 carriers operating in our primary datacentre.

Can I ship my equipment to you to get it racked?

Servecentric can rack, stack and configure equipment delivered to us in line with predefined requests if required. Our experienced engineering team works across a variety of vendor products and solutions.

What kind of security features are in place at Servecentric facilities?

Our data centres are staffed 24x7x365 by highly qualified security and technical personnel. Authorised client representatives may access their server cabinets or rooms as required. Surveillance video with over 150 cameras is available to our staff, and video footage is kept for at least 90 days. Tailored localised surveillance solutions are available upon request.

What kind of Fire Suppression System is used within Servecentric data centres?

Servecentric utilises the VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) sampling system to identify the exact incident location. The HI-FOG Water Mist system is used for fire suppression (and yes – it is suitable for data centres, it was designed to minimise any collateral damage to IT equipment)

Does colocation include any firewall services on the network?

We offer dedicated firewall solutions, which can then be customised to meet client requirements. Alternatively, clients can install their own solutions for perimeter security.

What options do I have for security on my cabinet(s)?

Servecentric provides lockable cabinets as a standard feature; however, optional features such as card scan, key code and biometric scan can be sourced as upgrades to the standard cabinets.

If I only need a partial cabinet, is that an option?

Yes, Servecentric provides options for data centre space for 1/3 cabinet (14u), 1/2 cabinet (21u), full cabinet (42u), customised cage spaces and full suites.

What if I need remote hands support?

We offer 24x7x365 remote Hands and Eyes services. In addition, a range of managed services and hosting-related services are available. Please contact our sales team to discuss your specific requirements.

Is there any reporting information available to me regarding my colocation services?

Yes, we can provide reports (either on request or scheduled) showing power and network availability. We also provide a portal for viewing up-to-date bandwidth usage. Additional reporting is available depending on the client’s choice of monitoring services.

Do Servecentric Data Centres offer full A-B power feeds?

Yes, we do offer fully diverse A and B power feeds. All A-B power is supplied via multiple (N+1 redundant) generators and resilient UPS systems across independent power distribution paths.

Do you provide managed service options for my colocated equipment?

Yes, we will provide managed services for your equipment located in Servecentric colocation facilities. Managed services are a customised solution to meet your requirements. Please get in touch with sales to discuss options.
